People Against Poverty LogoThe Trowbridge Chamber would like to say a huge thank you to their members for their support in finding our Charity for the year for 2014 and 2015. Following a popular online vote, the Charity chosen by our members was People Against Poverty.

People Against Poverty are a global community of the like-minded, an independent charity whose shared intention is to alleviate poverty and suffering around the world.

They channel their resources into projects that directly connect communities to communities; donor to recipient, person to person. They deliver help on the ground through local partnerships, networks and individuals connecting them with international projects that inspire them, have a gift for their work and a clear vision for what they wish to achieve, they help change lives by meeting basic needs: food, housing, education, shelter, giving people legitimacy and legal status. Their projects are designed to empower greater self-sufficiency, new hope and a more sustainable future – a handshake, not a hand out.
People Against Poverty have formed communities of individuals like you who share the same passion; businesses who care about communities and social responsibility (Business against Poverty) and educational establishments wishing to engage students directly and creatively in poverty relief (UK Schools Programme) all working collectively through your chosen charity, People against Poverty. Learn about their work and see how you can get involved.
