Trowbridge Chamber of Commerce saw the return of their social gatherings at a packed out summer social BBQ event held at Grangeside Business Centre.
Sponsored by Barlow Financial Management, it was a chance for local members to let their hair down and network in a more social environment. With over 50 businesses attending the social gathering, the grill was on and with the aim of encouraging local businesses to work more closely together, the BBQ was hailed as a success.
Councillor David Halik, Mayor of Trowbridge, who also found the event of benefit and said “Many thanks for […] the opportunity to discuss with and promote Trowbridge to the business men and women that attended […] and providing me with a current view of how small businesses work and how they are affected by changes in the Global Market.”
It wasn’t all business to business networking on the evening; Andy Barlow, from Barlow Financial Management, kindly donated a bottle of champagne for the Chamber Charity raffle – this year Stepping Stones, as voted for by the members – won by Ben Rule, Flooring by Ben and a new addition to the Trowbridge business scene – raising over £100 for a worthwhile cause.
“This has been a great event,” added Colin Kay, Chamber President, “and we are looking forward to our next big event – our free B2B networking in the 5th September and also our Christmas “do”, where, we hope, we’ll see another enjoyable evening, we hope to see as many people there”.
Emma Roberts, Vice President of the Trowbridge Chamber, commented that it was an excellent turn out for the event. “With both members and non-members attending, it’s been great to see people network and take full advantage of the summer sun in a spectacular setting.
